Seena Frost offers a warm invitation to try SoulCollage®

SoulCollage® Founders

SoulCollage® became what it is today because three visionaries saw its potential and gave themselves to realizing it. This page is an invitation to meet them, to hear their voices, and to understand the devotion that carried SoulCollage® from one woman's inner journey into homes, studios, and hearts across the world. SoulCollage Institute holds that legacy with profound gratitude and a commitment to carrying it forward.

Seena B. Frost, M.Div., M.A.

February 15, 1932 - January 13, 2016

Seena B. Frost, M. Div., M.A. studied theology at Yale Divinity School and was a psychotherapy clinician and supervisor in California for over 30 years. She used healing modalities informed by the work of C. G. Jung, Fritz Perls, Virginia Satir, Eric Berne, Roberto Assagioli, and others.

Seeds for the flowering of SoulCollage® were sown in Seena’s final project for a three-year “Human Capacities” program led by Jean Houston from 1987 to 1989. She further developed her ideas working with women in her therapy groups and workshops. After a decade of creative gestation, the process we know today as SoulCollage® was born.

In 2001, she published a book outlining the method, which won several awards. Seena was 71 when she began training SoulCollage® Facilitators to share her method worldwide, and she actively taught for the next ten years.

An expanded version entitled, SoulCollage® Evolving: An Intuitive Collage Process for Self-Discovery and Community, was published in 2010 and won a Silver Medal from The Nautilus Book Awards and was a finalist in the Body, Mind, & Spirit category from Foreword Reviews Book of the Year Award.

Seena spoke passionately about SoulCollage® and its role in the planetary paradigm shift that so many believe is occurring now. The SoulCollage® motto, Discover Your Wisdom, Change Your World™, means that many who do and share SoulCollage® consider it to be a significant change agent in our world.

She believed, “we are witnessing the re-emergence of the archetypal feminine wisdom long underrated in the world but now rising up to balance the heroic and individualistic and logical masculine wisdom. It’s time for both/and , not either/or.”

Seena died peacefully at home on the night of January 13, 2016 at age 83 with her family around her. She is loved and missed by the whole SoulCollage® community. Through this simple, profound process, thousands of people continue to find their authentic voices and become empowered to contribute confidently whatever gifts they discover within themselves.

Seena’s Community Suit includes SoulCollage® cards for the visionaries who played such an integral role in bringing SoulCollage® into being.

AND
Jim Schofield and Kylea Taylor, publishers of SoulCollage® Evolving and business partners who helped launch the Facilitator Training program and formed SoulCollage Inc.

Kylea Taylor, MS, LMFT served as President of SoulCollage Inc. from its founding in 2009. Together with her husband, Jim Schofield, stewarded the growth of SoulCollage® from a beloved local practice into an international community that grew to more than 6,000 Facilitators in sharing the method in over 60 countries. That growth led them to found SoulCollage Institute in 2024, a nonprofit organization dedicated to carrying the mission forward.

Kylea first met Seena in 1998, when she and her husband Jim Schofield attended a workshop in Seena's home. They were so moved by what they experienced that they offered to publish her book through their company, Hanford Mead Publishers, Inc. It was Jim who suggested the name "SoulCollage" itself, replacing the original "Neter Card process" with a phrase that captures the heart of the work: that all the cards in a deck together form the collage of one's soul.

That partnership deepened in 2003, when Kylea and Seena joined forces to launch the first SoulCollage® Facilitator Training in Santa Cruz, California. Seena brought her deep knowledge of the process; Kylea contributed her expertise in ethics, facilitation skills, and the practical business foundations Facilitators need to build their own practices. Together they trained the first hundreds of SoulCollage® Facilitators, laying the groundwork for what would become a worldwide movement.

In 2009, Kylea and Jim established SoulCollage Inc. to provide the organizational infrastructure the growing community required, including website development, trademark registration, and financial support for Seena during her lifetime.

Beyond SoulCollage®, Kylea founded InnerEthics® and has written several books on Holotropic Breathwork® and ethical practice, including The Ethics of Caring and Peer Consultation Groups and Ethical Awareness Tools.

In Their Own Words: A Conversation with the Founders

On the 20th anniversary of the publication of Seena's book, Kylea Taylor and Jim Schofield sat down with Facilitator and retired Trainer Lisa Miller to reflect on the history of SoulCollage® and the role the community played in shaping its evolution.

Many Voices. One Vision.

SoulCollage® grew into a worldwide community through the dedication of countless Trainers and Facilitators who believed in this work and gave it their hearts. When SoulCollage Institute was ready to launch, our Founders Circle answered the call, stepping forward with the generosity that made it possible. Meet the donors who believed in what was possible and helped make it real.
